Martial Law Declared!

The Imperial Services have declared martial law in the Titan system this week, with the following announcement from Ike Kreiger, the IMP Patrol Commissioner:

“Titan System is now under Martial Law.
All non-Allied ships are to leave the system immediately.
Entrance to Titan system is now by invitation only all others will be destroyed or seized. If you gotta ask you don't belong.”

It is not known why martial law has been declared, with rumours ranging from the presence of an ARC or TCA strike fleet being spotted in the system, to suspicions of Meklan activity. There are further rumours of significant DTR freighter traffic moving in and out of the system, being escorted by Imperial gunships. All of which suggests that something very odd indeed is going on.

Krell Under Attack

No sooner does a new dawn arrive for the Krell, but they find themselves being bombed back into oblivion.

A GTT fleet has inflicted significant damage against multiple Krell positions across the surface of Inversion, sparking yet more controversy and bad press for the stressed board of the GTT to handle.

It seems as if a lone GTT deep space scout entered orbit with very out of date enemy lists, and promptly opened fire on a Krell outpost, at which point other GTT commanders present thought they were under attack by the Krell, and opened fire in support.

The GTT reacted quickly to apologise for the incident, which comes on the heels of a similar incident a few weeks ago where a GTT fleet bombarded DTR positions.

The Governor of the GTT Starbase London, located on Inversion, issued the following statement to the press:

“I am appalled at the loss of life in the GTT attacks upon the KRL positions there. I offer my deepest apologies and fullest regrets for this incident. My heart goes out to both those who lost their lives in this attack and those who very happily survived.

The events were triggered by the arrival of GTT Ship Deathnaught 2. That ship, commanded by Aymer De Valence, had previously been on patrol in the Cluster region. It was ordered by me to return to London for routine maintenance and R&R.

Upon arrival in Storm, Captain De Valence immediately engaged KRL positions on Inversion triggering a general melee upon the KRL people. This occurred despite a previous and widely circulated communiqué by our new CEO, Mr Fox, ordering the removal of the KRL from all targeting lists.

In my capacity as Governor of London, I have ordered the immediate arrest of Captain De Valence. I have further ordered that he be returned under heavy guard to GTT Starbase HQ, where a full bill of charges will be arraigned against him.

I have personally sent a message to the Leader of the KRL to express my regrets and to pledge a fair compensation for their losses. It is my earnest hope to quickly reach an understanding with the KRL and that peace will continue to reign in Storm.”

Following the initial day of combat, it seems the guns have fallen silent, and that the fragile peace in the Storm system will continue.

Several Periphery governments and organisations have offered aid packages to the Krell. And it is understood the GTT will be paying full compensation for this unfortunate accident.

Evacuation

The evacuation of the civilians of Acrux has commenced in earnest this week, with reports indicating that several tens of thousands have been successfully lifted off-planet by the waiting flotilla.

There are also reports reaching our newsroom that significant Dewiek ground forces have been in action against the Meklan raiding parties across the surface of the planet, and that the Dewiek ground forces are being heavily supported by the Imperial services and friends.

Wastelands Claimed

Press Release
From the offices of Sebastian Blodstark
Star Date 209.16.1

The Wastelands System (175) has been officially claimed for the Imperial Services (51) by the starbase GTT Port Scheherazade (3173). This was met with enthusiasm by the civilian factions on planet Kalahari, as it is believed it will bring long term prosperity to the system. Sebastian Blodstark, Director of Exploration of the GTT and governor of Port Scheherazade has announced that a development plan is already being implemented to ensure a bright future for the Wastelands.

OPS Bloodied

The OPS freighter Heather Locklear has been taken roughly by the vile pirates of the dread vessel Black Sparrow in the Yank system this week when the Heather Locklear unexpectedly suffered an engines malfunction and spent a day longer hanging in deep space than is recommended.

Despite an effort to intercept the ship, it is understood the pirates made a clean getaway. And what is of particular concern is that apparently the Locklear was carrying a particularly valuable cargo – one which the OPS will no doubt be very keen to get back from the pirates.

More Piracy

The pirate vessel The Dead Ship has successfully boarded the FET freighter Titan’s Revenge in the Darkfold system. The dead Ship is understood to have had almost 500 pirates onboard, who swiftly and savagely overwhelmed the 14 defenders.

There have been suggestions that the Independent known as Calypso was involved in this attack.

Al Bundy Versus The GTT

There is more news on the ongoing war of words between Al Bundy and the GTT. An anonymous source has provided our newsroom with the following:

When asked about the claims of Al Bundy to have defeated the GTT, a GTT skipper replied, “It is really hard to take anyone as a serious threat when they spend three weeks in the Jiggly Room with one hand stuffed down their pants and a smile on their face. You feel kinda sorry for the guy, y’know? I know what you guys wrote but if you looked into it a little closer you would have found the Imperial Viceroy was laughing so hard he had a little accident. And the Detinus Senate’s tears were caused by more laughter than they had had all year.”

Falconians Elect New Leader

Press Release From the FCN Republic:

Greetings,

My fellow senators have in their wisdom decided that I should serve as Consul of the Republic. Whilst us Hawks care little for matters beyond our home system and are not known for our diplomatic skills we are not bloodthirsty Vultures either.

As such you will likely not hear very much from me unless you are a true friend or potential enemy. I have therefore appointed others who are interested in alien cultures, trade and talking to be your point of contact.

For all trade matters please contact Aedile Armand.

For everything else:

Aedile Armand will serve as Questor to the Imperial bloc (IMP / GTT / FET).
Censor Rajah Blackbird will serve as Questor to the Confederate bloc (CNF / CIA / BHD / HLQ / VH .
Censor Ocsav will serve as Questor to the Neutral affiliations (AFT / MOH / MIC / IDC / RIP)

They have my full trust to deal fairly with you.

I look forward to working closely with our FEL and SMS allies, our noble friends in the DTR and Xavier Fox of the GTT.

Sinclair of the KRL should get in contact to finalise our withdrawel from Storm. The Krell have my respect as noble warriors with an unfortunate history.

Finally:

Let me assure you all that peaceful affiliations have nothing to fear from my house or the Falconian Republic as a whole. Respect our territory and we will respect yours. Deal fairly with us and we will deal fairly with you.

If you come in peace to Falconia you will find Hawk hospitality straightforward if lacking in the grace of the previous Peacock administration. Please just take care to interact via the hiport at our bases.

Good Hunting,

Goshawk

RIP Clarify Rumblings In Madonna Story

The SSS ran the following story:

“An OPS outpost in the Madonna system has been the centre of some discussions between the Obsidian Predator Swarm, the RIP, and the Imperial Services this week. The parties concerned seem unwilling to discuss openly the significance of the outpost, but the attention it has generated seems to suggest that there is something of interest going on.”

The truth behind the story is not as sinister as it sounds...

Whereas, the past system claimants, the IMP required outpost regsitration and held tight controls on all mining and resource exploitation...

Madonna systems new claimants are considerably more freindly and welcoming...

The RIP have spent the last few days discussing the potential for expansion of the Madonna system and we have been seeking partner affiliations to invite to expand their current holdings and to upgrade to full scale colonies.

The OPS, being current residents, were offered first refusal... the IMP quickly revealed their interest in the peaceful development of Joe... and we offered them the same opportunity.

The RIP will be offering further opportunity for expansion/colonization into Madonna system to interested parties in the future ... we will be contacting our existing neighbours first though... it's just the polite thing to do.

Nothing sinister, nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of... just the freedom to live in peace and harmony with one another!

Thank you for taking the time to listen.

GT Spugman

Markets In Flux

The following Bases will have markets in flux for the next week:

Ariel
Eclypse
Blackbird's Nest
Dinas Dawr

Expect major price shifts and, in most cases, major increases in low-mid price goods.

Items Wanted

Fellow citizens of the peripheries:

As you may know, the Krell have almost no warships. We realize that we will never have the infrastructure to support huge fleets like most of the other races BUT we do need a way to patrol our system and escort our traders. Rather than build up massive factories to build hulls, we figure there is plenty of excess capacity out there now that the Humans are at peace. Therefore, we would like to offer private contracts to organizations for both bulk deliveries in the near term and also ongoing supplies moving forward. All armor, hulls and equipment to be priced for delivery to Yank. Here is what we are looking for:

Bulk Private buy:

1000 patches
1000 heavy hulls
2000 armor plates
1000 ablative armor plates
1000 normal hulls

Ongoing weekly supply:

50 Heavy Hulls
50 Normal hulls
100 patches

If we can purchase these defensive items then we can focus our industry on fixing planetary problems and poverty on our home world.

Sinclair

**From The Nexus**

A note to all, the new trade rules come into effect this week.

All those who don’t understand them properly (which would include me), can probably start to pick it up now that we’ll see it in operation.

IND vessels Launch Attack

A number of IND vessels have launched pirate style attacks against several targets in Yank this week, prompting panic and calls for the Kastorian military Junta to do more to protect innocent vessels within their space.

All starcaptains are warned to be on the lookout for the following guilty vessels:

IND SHIP K-2 (47243)
IND L75 Ornioso (30821)
IND L100 Permioso (31741)
IND Green (88867)

Krell Civil War

The struggle between the legitimate Krell leadership under the recently arisen Lord Skaven, and the rebellious Clan Black Rat has escalated this week with the sighting of several 150 HH GTT warships that appear to have been leant or sold to the Black Rat clan to assist them in their military struggle against the KRL.

The Chairman of the GTT Board has pointed out that the GTT are a trade corporation, and are prepared to do business with anybody they please, though speculation is mounting that the GTT are strongly backing the Black Rat clan in their struggle for ascension to leadership of the Krell peoples.

These rumours were not helped when a recent malfunction in GTT fire control computers caused a significant battle to erupt when multiple GTT positions opened fire on targets across the surface of Inversion, reportedly killing the then leader of the Krell, Sinclair.

Aladdin System Claimed By FCN

The Falconian Republic have issued the following statement:

Greetings,

The Falconian Republic is happy to announce its claim to the Aladdin System as an Open Development Zone and my appointment as the Magistrate of that system. Please refer to the Open Development Zone laws below and direct any further questions to me.

Ocsav

Open Development Zone Laws

These laws to systems administered by the Republic as Open Development Zones in partnership with the Galactic Trade & Transport (GTT) corporation.

- Exploration, transit and colonization rights are granted to ALL except for IND, PIR and FLZ.
- Fixed-asset owners are invited to register their POSITION ID, AFFILIATION and a list of DEPOSIT / RESOURCE IDs being exploited.
- In the event of a dispute between two fixed-asset owners priority will be given to the first registered position.
- Only warships belonging to registered affiliations* are allowed in the system. A warship is classed as any heavy hull ship of more than twenty hulls.
- Slavery or other mistreatment of sentients within the systems will not be tolerated.
- Aiding or abetting PIRates will not be tolerated.
- Base / platform owners are requested to add FCN to their defend and do not target lists. We shall return the favour.

* Registered affiliations at this time: FCN, FEL, SMS, FET, GTT and IMP.

Refugees

Reports indicate that more than 100,000 Dewiek refugees have now been successfully evacuated from beneath the sinister clutches of the Meklan active in Acrux. Transports from multiple affiliations are reporting success in moving the refugees, and that so far the Meklan appear to have made no effort to intercept or impede their activities.

Titan

The military curfew imposed on the Titan system has claimed its first casualties this week as several RIP freighters violated the no-fly zone of a large Imperial platform in the outer reaches of the system.

It is understood that initially four large RIP freighters were spotted, and one was destroyed in warning. The surviving three then fled, only to be replaced by several further RIP freighters the next day, which were engaged and destroyed.

In the same location the following day, an SMS patrol intercepted and brought to battle a small pirate scout vessel, the Ghost of Titan. Followed the very next day by a small pirate courier class freighter and a courier class GCE freighter.

And, as we go to press, there are yet more reports of vessels being destroyed in the same location in what appears to be a highly popular stretch of empty space. An IND Condor Class Freighter, the Hope and Glory, has been destroyed along with two medium sized pirate freighters. Bringing the total number of vessels destroyed here to eleven in the past week alone.

Star captains are reminded yet again that the Titan system is under martial law and is being aggressively patrolled – any transits should be arranged beforehand with the Imperial authorities.

Mobilisation?

A number of reports are indicating that elements of the DTR Stellar Armada have been placed on active duty. It is rumoured this mobilisation may be in some way connected to recent events in the Titan system.

Flagritz Press Release

STANDARD TERRAN TRANSLATION

Following the unofficial release of the formal words of succession issued by Imperator Baw'Xok I am hereby commanded to relay the following official statement from the Imperial Council.

Stardate 209.17.1

The Imperial Council has issued Star Lord Sulis with a Writ of Thorlium*, the first in the history of the New Empire. The Council have granted Star Lord Sulis the interim title of Archlord of the Empire and have invested significant power in him through the Writ. All flagritz have responded favourably to the dictates of the Writ and Imperator Baw'Xok himself has also responded in a dutiful and honourable manner, as befitting a Lord of the Empire.

This is a time of change within the Empire, a time to celebrate the victories of the past and toast to future success. Opportunities exist at this fulcrum point in time that will never again be available. Once the various ceremonies are complete the words of Archlord Sulis will be added to those of Imperator Baw'Xok.

Glory to the Empire.

Governess Lular H’minee of Manifold Point
Party for Peaceful Integration

* A Writ of Thorlium is a plaque of thorlium about the size of an A4 Terran Standard notebook. The Writ is masterfully crafted, is elaborately ornate and carries the words of the Council in no uncertain terms. The writ is bound by special hide. Construction of the Writ is undertaken in special forges on the flagritz homeworld. The issuance of a Writ is very unusual and is taken very seriously by the flagritz as it usually imparts extreme or unusual powers or privileges for the bearer.

Pirates Destroyed

Press Release
From the offices of Sebastian Blodstark
Star Date 209.18.2

One IND ship and one PIR groud party have been destroyed today by GTT forces in orbit of Kalahari (185), Wastelands System (175). A third suspicious position has also been eliminated, with prisoners apprehended and items confiscated. GTT forces sustained no casualties or damage.

Pirate Defeated, Viceroy Christens Term ‘Wolftard’

The Wolfpack pirate group has recently suffered a humiliating failure as they attempted to board an imperial freighter in the Misre system.

Over 400 bloodthirsty pirates were seen off by a small company of 60 Imperial Marines who met them with steady concentrated volleys of fire.

Over 40 pirates were killed for the loss of two marines.

The Viceroy has been quoted as saying, ‘This is what happens when amateurs take on the professionals.’

Press Release - Mohache Gain Entrance To Inner Confederacy

Here follows an official announcement

It is with the greatest pleasure I can announce that the Triumvirate Council has abided by HRH Lysanders wishes and allowed the MOH trade and transit rights in the Inner Confederacy.

This is a huge step forward for HRH Lysanders forward thinking policy.
This is the first Non human faction allowed into the Inner Confederacy, and who better than the peace loving MOH.
For HRH Lysander to sponsor such a thing is unheard of and Smokes in Mountains visit to see HRH where he showed the lifestyle, sampled the food, tasted the beverages played a large part in securing this great honour for the MOH nation.

HRH Lysander looks forward to sampling more of these treasures of the palette and the charming company that came with it.

Arrangements are being made to ensure the MOH will not be targeted and destroyed when they enter the Inner Confederacy so there will be a small delay till this is done.
We expect this to be completed by early next week.

Baron LiQuan

FET Issue Warning To Independent Traders

“All IND be advised, in light of recent events, not least a sneak attack on us in Darkfold, FET have reinstated our policy of shooting IND on sight with no questions asked or compensation given.

The salient points of this policy are listed below as a matter of public record.

Selected FET starbases will fire without warning upon any IND entering orbit. A full list will be published in due course this will certainly include all lone FET starbases.

All FET shipping will now fire on any IND shipping encountered in the Inner/Outer/unclaimed Capellan and Cluster. We will be looking to expand this into all peripheries where we have interests.

At this moment we accept only Zachariah Zupkern and his myriad of cousins as trustworthy and as such will be adding his vessels to our DNT lists. Everyone else will be fired on. Other IND wishing to be added to our DNT lists should register with the IMP and prove their honesty.

We do not accept that it is our responsibility to differentiate between IND captains. We work from the assumption that it is up to the IND to establish their honesty and integrity. Once you do this we will add you to our DNT. Until you do this we will fire on you.

Where we genuinely make a mistake by destroying a new captains Surveyor we will compensate, beyond that there will be no compensation or even discussion of compensation.”

Ecological Catastrophe In Yank

Reports from the surface of Chickamauga in Yank are condemning local Starbase governors for their excessive over-exploitation of a number of natural resources. Local environmental activists are claiming that one species has already become extinct, with several more verging on annihilation.

There has been no official response from any of the authorities involved.

More Bad News For Independants

The Falconian authorities have issued the following statement:

“WARNING TO IND CAPTAINS:

Due to threats against the GTT by one Baron Red Dorne and other IND of ill repute and the desire of the Republic to see a peaceful handover of assets to the KRL without endangering either party, FCN ships and assets in Storm will be carryig IND on their enemies.

You have been warned.”

Yet More Bad News For INDs

As if this week wasn’t bad enough for Independent starcaptains struggling to make ends meet, the imperial Viceroy has issued the following statement:

“In the light of the recent acts of piracy in the Yank system and threats uttered by some apparently IND individuals, and in full consultation with my Chartered Affiation colleages, transit and trade priveleges for all IND registered ships within systems claimed by and for the Imperial Services are hereby withdrawn.

Ths ban includes all IND ships pre-registered for entry to our systems and will remain in force until further notice.

IND ships have 300 TUs from Week 16 day 5 to leave our systems, after which a shoot on sight policy will be implemented.”

**Special Report**

A rare opportunity for a sight into the workings of the secretive Flagritz Empire has arisen recently as a number of declassified entries from the log of Star Admiral E. Janus of the A'Kla have been made available to the Peripheries press.

Document Status: Declassified
Translation Process: Complete

Entry 1

Today I took charge of the Home Fleet.

Pride quickly subsided as I reviewed the available resources and as scout reports showed that the combined fleets of the Felini, SMS and FCN not only outnumbered us in sheer numbers, but also in terms of heavy hulls.

Although the officers and crew seem trim and cheerful enough, few fail to show the concern of having to face an enemy that outnumbers us and doing it so in their own terms.

No! I'm convinced that cannot be the way to approach the matter. Honour must take second place to survival. A severe restructuring must be done before we can engage the enemy on level grounds.

Entry 2

The work carried out by my predecessor, Star Admiral E. Aprile, is extremelly valid. I'm very pleased by this. My work will be to revise some of the designs and update tactics to suit most recent enemy warship configurations. Of course the main problem will be to swiftly increase hull production and warship assembly.

Entry 3

The fleet is not ready, but the Falconians got lucky for once. Following my orders, the platform crew orbitting Zephyr was used to restore order on the streets of Xeno Zephyr. Given the urgency, the decision was correct at the time, but FCN swift actions seems to indicate either extreme luck or severe problems with our long range detection systems. The 2nd option must be reviewed to accertain it's real possibility.

Entry 4

I can't believe our bad luck. FCN commander Nurgle confirms that the raid on the platform was nothing more than pure luck. That they decided to scan the platform and execute the capture on the exact day the troops were returning to the platform is maddening. The death of our troops as they tried to return to their duty, will haunt me forever. We must have revenge!

Entry 5

Despite the obvious predicament at Zephyr, the Consortium high command dosn't seem to know what to do with the unexpected success. They seem divided between protecting the platform and bolstering its firepower and attempt to overcome the planetary shields swiftly. Freighter traffic seems to indicate they'll attempt to ground assault it. They're in for a bad surprise if they try that!

Entry 6

Enemy squadrons continue to operate without any clear sign of cooperation. We have great chance to inflict severe losses on their naval forces.

Entry 7

The fleet has been unleashed. Our crew fight ferociously against a join FEL and SMS fleet. The SMS squadron loses 11 100HH capital ships, but all their ships take severe losses. The Felini are present in lesser numbers but their larger ships are more durable. 3 150HH capital are destroyed outright and several other take severe damage. One of the identified warships is the MS Shield of Mrrshan (23093). So far it has survived the onslaught, but it will surely be destroyed with ease given that over 50% of it's mass is open to vacum. Destroying a ship called after the Felini leader is bound to be a good morale booster to the crews. The success is bolstered by the fact that we haven't lost a single ship. Remarkable since the enemy outnumbers us in terms of capital ships.

Entry 8

My decision to remain one more day, was a bad one. Earlier lack of coordination by Consortium forces led me to believe they wouldn't be able to mount a relief force, and we had within our grasp the chance to completly destroy two full enemy squadrons.
As Consortium reinforcements arrive we lose 4 attack ships and an disproportionate number of support vessels. In my view the enemy seeks to offset the number of capital ships lost, by causing us damage on more support ships.
The final tally as the fleet regroups is 18 ships lost, of which 14 are support vessels. During the chase on the systems outer rim, not a single capital ship is damage despite many of them being attacked by multiple bogeys. It seems that the changes done on the point defense system have paid off.
On a brighter side the damage dealt on the previous day survivors, has effectively terminated the SMS squadron as a further four 100HH are destroyed. Only two warships of the SMS squadron survive, one of them, the Ironstrike, has over 70% of the mass venting to open space. I must compliment the SMS for this feat.
FEL too lose 2 further 150HH warships. One of them being the MS Shield of Mrrshan (23093). Mrrshan must go without his shield. We are not so lucky in eliminating the original FEL force as 4 150HH survive the onslaught with damage ranging from 38% to 70%. The MS Shield of Ergilli (22855) matches the prowess shown by the SMS crew, but I'll never compliment a feral Felini.
The butchers bill put it at 21 enemy ships destroyed for a total of 2325 heavy hulls. We have lost 18 ships, 1640 normal hulls, the great majority during Consortium counter-attack. The enemy took special interest in our 60NH support vessels.

Entry 9

The enemy has massed an army on the planet. They plan on taking the base without first softening it. Initial scans show they don't have enough force to defeat us, but any losses now on our side could prove dangerous on the long term.

Entry 10

Falconian luck must be fading. The attempt at storming our positions has ended in disaster. Tens of thousands and hundreds of abandoned equipement litter the base surroundings. As the Marine commander reports this event, heavy artillery fire can still be heard. It's our artillery firing long range shells at the survivors of the FCN forces. Whatever survives won't be in good shape. It's rumoured that Nurgle himself is commanding this force. On our side we have lost 10 mercenaries. Their bodies are found very close. Rumours have it they were killed by the debris of some light tanks that were lost due to their own cannons overheating.
Subsequent reports indicate that the enemy used 42487 troops and 1802 tanks for this offensive, divided in 5 forces. Our long range fire was largely responsible for rerailing this attack. As the enemy closed with our positions, our largely outnumbered troops relied upon studied fixed defenses to sustain the initial impcat, but soon, supported once again, by the artillery force, the armoured divisions were able to launch a counter attack on the flanks and rear of the consortium forces, forcing them to flee in disarray.
Long range scanners indicate heavy damage on the sole surviving consortium force. We expect that some troops may have survived, but clearly the enemy has lost an entire army

Entry 11

Despite losses taken on the space battle, the A'Kla is again up to strength. B'Kla has also been completed and reports it's ready to conduct military actions.
The enemy interest on Zephyr may turn out to be good. The previous plan called for the action to occur at Crusade where the enemy has several moderatly fortified sectors and where they can easilly bottleneck us.
Scouting reports that the enemy has assigned several warships to protect the platform at Zephyr. Being stationary we'll be able to tailor this attack.

Entry 12
Scouts report 37 contacts, including 16 150HH and 13 75HH. These 75HH are, aparently, the SMS replacements to the heavy losses in 100HH taken on the previous battle. The remainder of the enemy forces are 100HH, 1 baseship taken at an unknown time and location and 1 50 NH. These will be our prey tomorrow. It's unsettling to see a captured baseship at the hands of the enemy, especially when we have no records of how and when it was taken.

Acrux

A major ground assault has been launched against Meklan positions in the Acrux system this week. Details are as yet still patchy, but we have received the following press statement:

“Announcement by the office of Duke Gregor Konstantin

Today at dawn hundreds of thousand imperial troops of the Konstantin Legions serving under my command alongside a contingent of local militia and thirty thousand troops supplied by the DEN and other friendly and caring affiliations engaged the heavily entrenched Meklan occupiers of the Starbase Impervious to free the local civilian community from the MEK terror. Covering the advance of the troops tens of thousand tanks filled the horizon.

The hundred thousand cold and calculated Meklan defenders showing now regards to the survival of the base using its civilian structures as cover rained death and destruction on the attackers closing in on the base on the coverless plains. The first day of battle has seen 8882 fine servicemen confirmed dead or injured and more than fifteen thousand tanks destroyed. The cost has been immense, but the sacrifices of our servicemen have brought us inside the base and now it’s a battle from house to house were we have the upper hand due to our superb quality of our servicemen. The fall of the defenders is to be achieved.

Once again have an alliance between humans and Dewiek fought together against the terror brought upon us by the ARC and their meklanised servants and once again we have showed the glory of our nations. The Konstantin Legions and our imperial navy and army are there as always to protect you as a citizen of our and our allies claimed territories. Again our proud soldiers have given their lives for us to prevail and prosper.

Let today be a day of remembrance and gratitude.

Duke Gregor Konstantin
Supreme commander of the Konstantin Legions”

Independent observers located near the battlefield report that the Allied attack went in like a lightning strike, and that they achieved overwhelming superiority, taking fewer casualties than were expected.

With the death toll running at 8882 on the first day alone, it is sobering to think what level of casualties were originally expected. Although it is understood the majority of the casualties came from a large band of mercenaries, and that regular army units suffered far fewer losses.

There are disturbing reports that there were fewer Meklan present at the starbase than expected, suggesting they may still be at large somewhere on the planet or in the system.

Krell Civil War

The GTT director agreed to be interviewed by one of our reporters to gain an insight into the GTT involvement in the recent flare-up of the internecine Krell conflict:

“Ferox (now KRT) has been the Krell Warlord for some time, the GTT have been dealing with him for over six months as he was the Warlord of Inversion and the KRL.

As Sinclair/Skaven took leadership of the KRL, Ferox was changed to KRT. But he is still the Warlord of Inversion and the Krell. The KRL are the new splinter faction in this civil war, the KRT are actually the existing leaders of Inversion and the Krell people. Strange as that sounds.

From our perspective (others didn't know about Ferox before) Ferox is actually the existing Krell Warlord and Skaven is the leader of a splinter group. Ferox has been the Warlord in Storm for six months before the group run by Sinclair or Skaven existed.”

It is certain that Warlord Ferox will attempt to make political capital off the back of his support from the GTT.

Bundy News Corp

In what can only be good news for the Peripheries, a new news corporation has been supplying our newsroom with bulletins. We cannot vouch for how reliable they might be:

“News Bulletin, this just in:

In a horrible change of events, Al Bundy was kidnapped Friday night. This happened right in front of a startled horrified standing room only crowd at the commencement ceremonies for the Oxford Texas School of Psychology.

He had just began his speech. The huge sports arena was as silent as space. He got this far: NEVER MARRY. That's right kids. You're going out into a dangerous world and you're going to have enough on your mind just keeping up with.......

At that point ten people dressed in black and carrying assault rifles Burst out from a trap door beneath the stage. It was one of those round, rotating stages, so everyone would get to see him. No one knows where he was taken, or why. But a lot of kids broke down sobbing. There was not a dry eye in the arena. At this point we do not have any answers. The graduating class agreed unanimously to postpone the event until Al Bundy....Doctor Al Bundy, is found. Hopefully, still alive.”

There has as yet been no demand for a ransom for the safe return of Al Bundy. If there were, we’re honestly not sure who might pay it.

Masters System

A diplomatic row has erupted this week when the RIP detected a large number of DTR, GTT and SMS warships lurking around the outer reaches of their private system of Masters.

It seems as if the Commonwealth and SMS ships have been involved in a pirate-hunting mission, having gained two kills of PIR scouts in the space of a week. However it remains to be seen how welcome they will be, given they did not clear the operation with the RIP authorities, citing ‘security concerns’.

Storm System

The Falconians have issued the following statement regarding their continued presence in the Storm system:

“Greetings,

In an effort to avoid entanglement in the Krell Civil War, FCN warships will be ordered to leave the Storm system as of tomorrow.

We hold in trust assets destined for the Krell Warlord who triumphs in the war. Any effort to seize these assets without peace being established in the system will be met with deadly force. I have been assured such an effort will be supported by GTT warships and base in the system.

The system message for Storm has been duly changed to notify all travellers the system is a warzone and peaceful travellers are advised to stay out.

Good Hunting,

Goshawk”

Lord Baw Xok of the Flagritz has responded to the FCN statement with the following quote to the press, “Stick it up your perch and stay out of Storm.”

Solo System

The Solo System has been claimed by the AFT, with the following statement of intent:

“As I am ramping up my patrols of Solo I am placing the AFT system claim back in place. This claim is to ensure Solo does not become a battleground.

I am requesting that we form a council, votes to be determined by the number of 100HH ship equivalents stationed in system for peace keeping duties, max of 10 votes. The purpose of said council to determine policy and responses to hostile actions. I will place all outposts and bases of council members on the defend lists of my two squadrons. Patrols will commence early next week.

One thing I will point out, this was not voted on by the AFT council. While I will try to be as fair as possible I am personally responsible for any actions I take. I hope that others will join the Solo Defence Council so no one group can be singled out for attempting to keep the peace, but if my ships are it so be it.

Cirdan the Shipwright.”

The Flagritz have issued the following statement regarding this development:

“Stick it up your perch.”

Awards!

The Flagritz Empire have been nominated for this years annual Periphery good diplomacy award.

When contacted for their response to their nomination for this prestigious reward, our reporter was politely informed to stick it up his perch.

Titan System

There have been more reports of vessels destroyed in the Titan system this week as starcaptains continue to ignore Imperial warnings that all trespassers will be destroyed.

The RIP vessel Cockney Geezer is just the latest in a large number of RIP ships to be destroyed by a large platform in D-14.

Fury System

There have been unwelcome visitors in the Fury system this week, as the FET ignored the FCN no-entry signs and provoked an attempt by the Falconians to board the offending vessel.

Our newsroom has received the following after-action report from a Falconian intercept squadron:

"The boarding actions met with much stiffer resistance than I would
have credited in the FET. The crew was much larger too.

GCE

A new director has been announced for the troubled GCE corporation. The following statement has been broadcast:

“Greetings, is this thing on? (looks at someone off screen)
I believe it is? (says someone off screen)
Well, ahhmmm

Greetings, my name is Alberto Garcia, temp Director of Garcia
we where in a process of finding the new director, when we
heard about all these problems and this prompted a fast response.

I am now director of Garcia and I promise the problem that happened
will not happen again. And I am very happy that the attack vs the
GTT did not work out.

Lastly, we have due to the disappearance of our last Director lost a lot
of notes, so anyone with deals or dealings with us, please could you
get in touch? as well for those whom we are in system with or risk losing
access into, please get in touch, so we don’t loss access or other things.

Also last I heard, we where to claim the system of Wasteland, is this still
going or have someone decided otherwise?

I hope to get all these things sorted out quickly and return Garcia Enterprises
to normal business.

Temp Director Alberto Garcia.”

With any luck the new director will be able to overcome the recent controversies that have threatened the continued survival of the GCE.

Ships For Sale

www.kjcgames.co.uk/phoenix/nexus/index.php?a=posts&tid=16135&lr=on#post_tag

**Special Report**

A rare opportunity for a sight into the workings of the secretive Flagritz Empire has arisen recently as a number of declassified entries from the log of Star Admiral E. Janus of the A'Kla have been made available to the Peripheries press.

Document Status: Declassified
Translation Process: Complete

Entry 13

I'm disappointed! Coordination between A'Kla and B'Kla was not the best. While some enemy ships got too much attention, some were left untargeted.
Even so 8 150 HH Felini warships, 2 100HH, 5 75HH, the 50NH destroyer and 1 unlucky Condor Class freighter were targeted and destroyed, 8 others, mainly 150 HH are left badly damaged, while 6 others took moderate damage (22%<x<35%)
Our losses can be considered to be extremely light. Only 3 60NH support vessels are lost with some scattered reports of extremely light damage on a few other support vessels.
The final tally is 17 to 3, or 1825 HH and 100 LH for 180NH.
Again the enemy shows unduly interest in targeting our support vessels, many of which don't even carry offensive weaponry.

Entry 14

Despite continued taunting, the Falconian command has refrained from engaging us in combat. They hide their forces and appear only after their allies SMS and FEL have suffered our kind attentions. This time however it seems FCN is forced to assign warships to garrison the approaches to Breeze.
It's time to blood the FCN.

The Detinus Games

Entrants from all affiliations and races are now being invited for the first Detinus Games.

Sentients,

I am pleased to announce that entries are now invited for the inaugural Detinus Games.

Following the pattern of our Mohache overlords, there will be a number of different events, yet to be determined. But they are sure to reflect the culture and learning of the Detinus Republic.

So expect lots of filing and paperwork and 5000 word essays on why democracy is a terribly good thing. And other such thrilling events. Though the final event will be in a similair vein to the Mohache Games' final round-robin team knock-out football event.

Entrants are invited from any affiliation, the only limit is one team per political (or player). Each team should consist of 7 participants in a ground party that will be delivered to a DTR starbase that will be hosting the event.

(ooc: location still to be determined pending whether or not the rest of the DTR think this is a terrible idea or not. It will probably be in Yank though. Also, it depends how many people want to enter, if there's enough for me to continue spending the time pushing ahead with this. I think the MOH games had 7 teams enter, so as long as we can get at least that many this time. I'll hopefully be able to get Mica onboard if there is enough interest.)

Coronation

The Baron LiQuan has issued the following statement to the press regarding the coronation of Lysander:

“Its is with great pleasure that I can confirm preparations for the crowning of His Imperial Highness Lysander will be completed in approximately 5 months.

The ceremony will be held at House LiQuan on the planet Masada in the fortress system. All are invited to attend, if access is not available contact Baron LiQuan who will arrange transport for the occasion.

The Baron LiQuan on behalf of His Imperial Highness Lysander would like to thank the following affiliations for supplying technology and/or modules, which allow this ceremony to take place. With out there help the coronation would have been a good year away at best.
BHD 10 Monastery (11019) Blue prints
CNF Numerous Palace (11100) Blue prints and thousands of modules delivered to House LiQuan
FET Heavy Structural Design (8010)
GTT Material Utilisation Crystalline (8017)

GCE Shipping Announcement

A mysterious telegram has been received at our offices this week regarding attacks by IND shipping against GCE assets, the text of which is as follows:

THE GCE IS BACK IN THE HANDS OF GARCIA, WHERE IT BELONGS. THEREFORE IND ATTACKS ON GCE SHIPPING IN YANK ARE NO LONGER NECESSARY AND STOPS TODAY. THIS MINUTE AND PERMANENTLY. GCE OFFICER PRISONERS ARE SAFE AND WILL BE RETURNED UNHARMED.

BROOKLYN

Unfortunately we have no further information regarding this story.

Acrux

Official figures are now available, and over 160,000 Dewiek civilians have been safely evacuated from Acrux from the clutches of the Meklan. And with more good news, the Imperial Services are announcing that the Meklan Starbase has been captured:

Announcement by the office of Duke Gregor Konstantin

Today imperial troops of the Konstantin Legions serving under my command alongside a contingent of local militia, DEN and other friendly troops defeated the last of the heavily entrenched Meklan occupiers of the Starbase Impervious. This ensured to free the local civilian community from the MEK terror.

The cost has been immense with 20 045 dead or wounded, but the sacrifices of our servicemen have brought safety to the planet once again.

Unfortunately it seems like tens of thousand civilians from the planet was meklanised or enslaved in the base before we were able to fight the 100 000 Meklan troops there. Any information about the meklans, ARC or the TCA is appreciated. Please contact my office if you have any information about them that could be relevant. The source of this tragedy will be hunted down and brought to justice.

Supreme commander of the Konstantin Legions

Krell Civil War Ends

Following a significant military defeat the Krell clan Black Rat have announced they are abandoning their efforts to claim the title of Krell Warlord. From an underground bunker somewhere on Inversion the following transmission was made:

“Today the Black Rat Clan have lost-lost control of Inversion.
We don't have the firepower to repel the forces of the usurper, or the finances to run such an impressive fleet-fleet.

On top of the assets gifted by the FCN, the KRL attacked today with over 30 main-main line warships of the Broadsword and HLQ class.
A force a clan such as us can't hope to better.

Today some of the KRT survived. Tomorrow will be a dark-dark day in our history.

In the tradition of the Krell-Krell I accept that Warlord Skaven as control of more military might than me, so can lay claim to the title of Warlord of the Krell-Krell clans.”

A number of Periphery powers including the Falconians and GTT have officially recognised Warlord Skaven as the new leader of the Krell. And Skaven himself has extended the hand of friendship to the defeated Black Rat Clan, stating that it is time for the Krell to stand together once again.

Skirmish

A small squadron of Flagritz raiders has been intercepted and destroyed in the Storm system by a Falconian patrol in association with an ICE squadron. Four FLZ kills have been confirmed for no damage amongst the FCN and ICE.

Xenos Zephyr

Rumours are flying around our newsroom that the months-long bombardment of the FLZ base Xenos Zephyr by Consortium forces may be about to enter a new phase following an announcement by the Felini:

“The command centre was buried deep beneath the Starbase, a legacy of Pride Bastet who had once had the honour of holding this world for Tyrant. Synthetic sunlight and atmosphere scrubbers that would do justice to a starship made the interior bright air fresh. But most of the Felini staff and officers who served here still found the cramped windowless confines oppressive, more so than starship duty, as if the heavy weight of the rock and soil pressed down on the soul as well as the walls of the bunker.

Truth be told the lack of view did not bother Rasshan, Pridesenior of the Starhunters. Unlike most of his staff, who came from kingroups of the Bast Felini that had been adopted into the Starhunters after reunion, he was of the Pride Felini; a survivor of the Scourging of the homeworld. His first command had been a damage assessment team in the aftermath of the bombardment and the nightmares that occasionally haunted his sleep where quietened by the cocoon of shielding rock.

"Communiqué from the Falconians, Pridesenior"

Rasshan glanced up from the status display

"They confirm they are moving to phase three of 'scipio' and request that we stand down bombardment of Target Alpha"

"At last!" his tail lashed as he assumed the posture of 'anticipation of hunt fulfilled'. "At last....... order the task group to disengage Target Alpha and prepare to repulse any enemy incursion into contested space"

It is uncertain what this new phase might entail, but it seems fair to speculate that a new ground assault may be in the offing. The FCN will surely be hoping this will be more successful than their last failed ground assault.

Curly System

The Falconian Republic have announced that they have claimed the Curly system.

Solo Press Statement

“As I am ramping up my patrols of Solo I am placing the AFT system claim back in place. This claim is to ensure Solo does not become a battleground.

Pirate Spotted

The pirate vessel Chaos Crew, a Chaos Class Heavy Cruiser, has been spotted prowling the busy spacelanes of Yank. All merchants are warned to be on alert.

Interestingly this is the first sighting of this particular class of Cruiser, prompting speculation as to where it is from and who built it. Anybody with any information is invited to contact our newsroom.

Wolfpack

The Wolfpack pirates have been quite quiet recently, but they are still out there wreaking havoc, with a success this week against two GTT freighters:

Calypso

The vile yet oddly alluring pirate Calypso has announced this week that she intends to make her prisoners fight to the death in her arena, and further that she has invited betting on this barbaric spectacle.

The following coded transmission was received from parts unknown at our newsroom:

*

Calypso climbed the steps of the arena, heading to her seat, well aware that every eye was upon her. She played to her audience letting her figure sway, the cut of her dress hugged and climbed around voluptuous frame, she took her seat, noise from the crews and her watching garrison grew, tension and anticipation thick in the air.

Her excitement was palpable, her heart raced, she took almost as much pleasure from the thrill of mortal combat as she did from tearing away at the souls of her victims. The two men she had chosen, would she was sure put on a display, both where in good physical condition and both seemed to have some sort of rudimentary military training, she hoped they would not need the assistance of the many weapons she had made for the occasion.

The men stepped into the arena, an area about half the size of an old style football field, so from the halfway to goal line, this walled to about 8 feet on all sides with vicious looking spikes at the top, guards with blaster rifles and phase cannons where dotted at intervals around the exterior should one of the combatants take his chances with the spikes.

The roar of the crowd grew steadily as two guards pushed the men towards the centre, where they backed away securing the doors to the prisoner chambers. Both men wore little and under the lights a sheen of sweat could be seen over their muscular torsos. Calypso raised her hand to hush the crowd, it was too begin; the ring master brought the event to order.

Both men knew what they were risking and what would be the reward for a good show, fighting as they were for a chance to bed the she-devil they knew as Calypso, simple the pleasures for a man who spends his every waking hour in a cell.

The ring master took his mark from the hush,

“Ladies and Gentlemen, Boy and Girls, dying time is here.......”

“We have before us two champions. In the Grey Corner, sporting two black eyes, a twisted scrotum and representing the FET we have Joe 'Cock' Strummmmmmerrrrr.
Facing him in the blue Corner, wearing nothing but bruises and representing the CIA we have Luc 'Luckeee' Telvant.

The two contestants eye the crowd up warily then each other, the ring master dropped his hand and backed away. They approached, circling each other like two predators assessing their prey, then Luc proposed something, muffled and under his breath before proffering a hand. Joe hesitated for just a second, nods and goes into shake, as soon as he does, he is immediately pulled off balance and directly into the path of a menacing knee to the groin, he crumples into a heap, though there is no respite for him, Luc quickly releases the hand and circles round the back of Joe throwing is arms antagonistically around his neck, pushing the right elbow downward whilst with a huge effort drawing his left back and away from his body , there is a sickening crunch, a scream forms on the lips of Joe Strummer, but no sound his heard has his lifeless body drops, left to convulse and shake in the dirt.

The crowd are silent at first, it was not what they had expected or craved, then a light murmur, which quickly descends into a crescendo of laughter, the subterfuge of the CIA you have to admire it. Calypso however was less than impressed, it was not the opening contest she had had in mind. In the arena Luc looked up at what he thought he had won. He watched her motion to one of her bodyguards.

“Bring Igor Shalimov to my chamber, suitably bound and tied, and bring with him my toys, throw that one back into his cell to rot, and tell him tomorrow he can do it all again, let him try that on the Felini”

The guard smiled, not wise to upset Calypso he had found during his employment, though the DTR prisoner Shalimov would at least enjoy the evening and he, the guard, would be able to extend his personal video collection, as for Luc Telvant, he was probably lucky to have left the arena alive, and at a whim his chances of making it through the night could be in serious jeopardy.

Solo claim swings back and forth

The situation in Solo appears to be getting even more heated. First the NHS dropped 600,000 troops to contest the system and then the DTR answered with enough troops of their own to trump the NHS claim. The NHS found yet more troops, taking the contesting claim up to 750,000 and once again the DTR answered, bringing Solo back under DTR control. Now the NHS have had a look down the back of the sofa and found yet more troops, taking the contesting claim to a massive 900,000 trained troops. We wait to see if the DTR have an answer to this. We can only guess where all these troops are coming from, but what is clear is that the established affiliations clearly have far larger armies than many thought.

NHS attempt to claim Solo away from DTR

In a shock move the NHS have contested the Solo claim with a huge garrison of 600,000 trained troops. In a move that nobody saw coming, especially as it was unknown the NHS had such a large force of troops to draw upon, the NHS seem to be provoking a response from the DTR. Currently there has been no word from the DTR in how they are going to deal with this claim jumping, although rumours are that they are pretending the Solo claim doesn't really matter to them and so action is unlikely. However this may be a smokescreen and we may yet see the DTR's powerful fleet cause havoc in the system of Solo, which has for a long time been an important junction and fought over by many different factions.

DNA Chairman TonTon resigns

The following communication has been leaked from the DNA to the GTT's PD.

Greetings CEO Fox.
It regrets me to have to inform to you that the DNA nation state will be renouncing its claim on Aladdin system following a ceremony planet side, shortly.
However, it gives me great pleasure to have to inform you that these ceremonies are being planned by Vladimir Tavikovitch, the South Road Traffic Coordinator. He is also responsible for all DNA and .ore. assets in the Outer Naplian (Capellan) periphery so if there are any further issues, please take it up with him.
For any and all other matters, please forward your request directly to the DNA directorate services at NexusID: DNA people.
The Foreign Ministry objects one last time to your illegal claim jump of Aladdin, but we realise it is time to de-escalate.
Normally i would sign off with Naambta, but doing so would be hypocritical. Let me say good riddance instead.
I hereby resign in protest!

DTR threaten WMB with fines for multiple breaches of DTR Law

Lady Sylvansight of the DTR has issued a fine of 1,000,000 stellars to the Wimbles for multiple breaches of DTR Penal and Territorial Law. This seems a very brave move of the DTR to risk upsetting the huge and warlike WMB when they also have the rival NHS Solo system claim to deal with. No word has been recieved yet that the Wimbles are going to pay, but if the formidable WMB warfleet is seen heading for the DTR home systems we will know what their thought are on the matter. The DTR and WMB fleets going head to head would be a sight to behold.

DNA and GTT clash over Aladdin system claim while Pirates look on.

The GTT have this week launched an attack on the DNA outpost in Aladdin, in what appears to be little more than a turkey shoot. Around 100,000 GTT Naplian Startroopers attacked the DNA position to remove the rival system claim. Reports indicate the DNA garrison were taken by surprise and lost control of the base in the first few hours of the fighting. The base has since been reflagged from [Free Naplian Capital] Peaceful Protest to [Loyal Naplian Capital] DNA claim Ended so it's fair to say there was a clear message being sent by the GTT. We have been waiting for the DNA leadership to comment but so far they have been unusually silent. No doubt when they have crawled out from under their desks they will have something to say on the matter.

While this attack was going on several pirate ships were also seen in Aladdin, according to the GTT in what may be true or may be a diversion, with reports of a pirate GP and scout being destroyed while a 150HH pirate warship slipped away and escaped from incoming anti-pirate patrols.

Secret meeting of the EEM

A recent communication intercepted by one of our top reporters today made us aware of a meeting of the EEM. This is underway in a top secret location called Black Pool, which sounds suspiciously like the lair of a pirate band. After pulling in many favours, we were able to identify some of the attending members. On the bases that they won't be named we were able to find out some slight information of the subjects to be discussed at the meeting and one thing is for certain, there could be huge impacts to the lives of everybody living in the galaxy. Details to follow. When the shadowy figures of the EEM come together with the top political players in a pirate base the possibilities are endless!

You are never more than 6 systems from a RAT ðŸ€

A new saying has arisen in the bars and spaceport of starbases throughout the many peripheries; you are never more than 6 systems from a RAT.

It is understood that this saying originated in Yank and spread by trade vessels to peripheries far and wide. Many starbases have heightened their security and added additional sensors and locks to various entry points including foul and grey water outfalls. Beer and drug stocks are undergoing increased proofing to avoid the critters gaining entry and consuming the stockpiles.

Will this present as a new plague of proportions never before seen or is this some simple urban myth being spread for the amusement of some mischievous entity? Who knows, but to be certain... check the shadows.

This year we will again be returning to the Briardene Hotel. They were welcoming, the bar didn't run out of beer pre-covid and there was room for quiet chats. Along with Wetherspoons there is the Victoria just down the road (Sam Smiths - last time beer was around 2 shillings per pint and a full round was less than £10).

Mostly drinking beer and talking toot though we have a good few things on the agenda.

Bookings are done directly with the hotel. Book by phone and say that you are with KJC Games

All staff should be able to deal with the booking but if there are any problems ask for Tracy (manager) as she dealt with all our foibles in previous years.

Dog days are over

With the fall of the DEN and the implosion of their home territory as the AFT, DTR and GTT moved in, it was unlikely the Dewiek would rise again. The DWP gave the species a little hope with the Dewiek Pocket Periphery kept under lock and key. But news has reached us of the AFT's penetration of this private area of space that's been locked down. With a base and claim in one of the three visible systems it seems that the end of the Dewiek is near. A once noble and aggressive race, determined to make an impact on the galaxy is now little more than a species that lives under the command of others. A sad end to a once powerful species that used to control a significant part of known space.

Pirate activity continues

Yet more reports of pirate activity have been received, one from the WMB, losing a freighter in Solo and another from the FET who reported they had engaged and hit the attacking pirate ship with several weapons before it managed to make off with it's prize. Hopefully the pirate ship took significant damage and will now be out of action for some time. The Corewards periphery seems to have been plagued with pirates recently and many travellers would welcome a break from attacks.

MEK incursion into Corewards

The FET and GTT have mounted a joint venture into Nog-Kesri to tackle a MEK force. It isn't known where they have come from, with the only other MEK ships seen so far being located in the Orion Spur. The lack of a known link between where they have appeared in Corewards and the Orion Spur has caused some concern among planetary populations as who knows where they could turn up next! Fortunately the combined FET/GTT task force dealt the MEK a heavy blow and the threat has been eradicated. But we all know this is unlikely to be the last we hear of the MEK in Corwards and we would encourage ship captains to keep a keen eye on thier sensor screens when travelling near Nog-Kesri.

    Aladdin faces ongoing DNA/GTT tension

The tensions between the DNA and GTT in the Coptuv system recently spilled over into the DNA system of Aladdin. A significant party of GTT ground troops has reinforced one of their bases in the system and claimed it, forcing the system claim into turmoil as the DNA finds itself under threat of losing the system. With the DNA chairman asking for help, several affiliations have been seen sending ships to evacuate any in the local population that want to escape the GTT. But so far not a shot has been fired and despite the AFT, FEL and DTR assistance no reisistance to the claim jump has been encountered so far. It remains to be seen if the DNA and it's friends will scatter before this hostile take over or put in a last minute counter claim to thwart GTT intentions.

    Increasing pirate activity

Recent reports indicate a new surge in pirate attacks with the AFT and GTT reporting ships lost. Knowing how some don't like to advertise losses we wouldn't be surprised if this is the tip of the iceberg. Reports passed to us show the ship PIR Scavenger running ID 43174 and another ship of the same name running ID 68668 have both been in action with successful boarding attempts. It's unknown whether these are seperate ships or the same ship reregistered, but our information suggests that it would be hard for these pirates to cover the space where these attacks happened with just one ship. One thing is for sure, be on your guard as open space is not as safe as it once was.

GCE ships loitering in deep space

After the fall of the GCE and a lot of their assets being shared or purchased it was thought that the affiliation was no more. Yet deep space scans indicate that there is still a significant number of GCE warships holding station in deep space between Coptuv and Yank on the transport route into the Corwards Arm. Nobody knows what these ships are up to and why they are still flagged GCE, but our best guess is that are captains either awaiting new orders or owners after the fall of the GCE command structure.

    Tension in the Corewards Arm

With the DNA obtaining several ex-GCE bases in the Coreward Arm it has found itself in the middle of an asset grab of serious proportions and aggression. Our reporters witnessed several GTT troop carriers heading for the Corewards system as the DNA published information suggesting they were accidental owners of the system and that the assets were to be moved on. As the GTT ships started to arrive the bases were quickly passed to the CIA, thus thwarting the GTT intentions as they were hardly likely to start dropping troops on their allies bases. This shrew move by the DNA seems to have calmed matters in the Coreward arm temporarily, although the shift in relations between the GTT and DNA has taken a negative turn. When asked what their next move might be the GTT refused to comment.

    GCE collapse

The GCE are no more, save for some scattered light freighters. The affiliation which enjoyed a sharp rise and profiltable relations with many has ceased trading. Rumors point to the GTT buying up GCE assets before stripping the rival corporation of anything of value. Although our reporters at the SSS have been quick to point out that any GCE assets not in GTT systems have been taken over by both the DNA and FET. So it seems many different affiliations were able to profit from this development including a new group called the HSH who appear to have taken over the GCE war fleet. No doubt many in the peripheries will be watching with interest where these ships are used, who the HSH are and how they were able to get thier hands on so many warships so quickly.

    Secudus trials

In the Cluster Secudus has continued his trials, claiming to root out terrorists working against the Empire. With tends of thousands of beings being sent to the camps or worse. There is no sign of these actions stopping as the NHS clamp down on the locals and bring them under the harsh control of the Empire.

    Persistent Browser-Based Game (PBBG)

I’ve played on and off for approximately 10 years, over a 20 year spell. After some interesting debate on the in-game forum, I did wonder what, exactly, has kept drawing me back to the game, when for so many others I’ve generally lost interest after a few months.

Ultimately, I think it is a combination of automation (that allows the game to handle thousands of positions to interact on a daily basis) coupled with Special Actions (that allow the story arc to develop in a way that could not be catered for by a set of predefined list of available orders).
